First Church of the Nazarene

It is like the busiest month in the life of our church it seems.  Family Camp, Summer Sunday nights start, Children's Camp, Wedding, Father's Day, General Assembly, and family vacations!  It all goes at breakneck speed. 

The pace is fast but what happens in this month is spiritually immeasurable.  Many get grounded and believers go deeper in their spiritual walk with the Lord at Family Camp.  We value relationships and we affirm that by intentionally taking time to go to our fellow believers’ homes on Summer Sunday Nights, to share an encouraging word, and have fellowship where we live.  Children's camp sees many come to Jesus Christ, many hear the voice of God calling them into his service.     We believe in the fidelity of relationships between men and women according to God's plan and we affirm that with a wedding!  In a world where men seem to be labeled with titles like, abuser, molester, cheater, philanderer, dead beat, etc., we affirm fatherhood after the image of our loving and holy Heavenly Father who calls men to live a holy life.  From all over the world we gather, over 160 countries, different languages, different races, different cultures, and we celebrate a common Savior as we worship, and "ad-minister" the part of the Body of Christ called the Church of the Nazarene at General Assembly in Indianapolis.  This General Assembly brings us the opportunity to deepen our ties with our church planting partner in Cienfuegos, Cuba, up close and personal.   I will share more about that later when details are worked out.   We all need times away with our families, to relax and rest from the normal business of life, and we affirm each family taking the time to go do that this June! 

The truth, is, JUNE is not about being busy, or the pace, it is still about what every day, every month is about, being discipled, and making disciples!   Whatever you do, don't quit being discipled and making disciples.  Look for every opportunity and don't miss it when God places those moments right in front of you in JUNE! –
